Jon Beedles Gig - The Score;
Money Raised -
£50 for The Aquarius Club, a Registered Ely Charity for disabled adults.
Well done to Jon Beedle's & his Boogie Band who boogied us till we could boogie no more & equaled the top Fund Raiser of this Live Music Season.

James, our L!VE M!SiC Reviewer has gone off to Glastenbury leaving us amateur writers to do the review of Jon Beedle's Boogie Band.

But, even though the hallowed ground of Glasters will have some great guitarists there I would be surprised if any got close to our mate "Jon Beedle" unless Jeff Beck or Francis Dunnery is there..!

Just by listening to the Band "sound check" you just knew you were in for a treat, and a treat it was.
Jon Beedles Boogie Band not only does exactly "what it says on the can" but they also play slow too, with Jon licking the fretboard of his Guitar with passion and feeling.

I have to say that over the last few weeks we have seen some excellent musicians in general, and when you consider that there are so few places for a band to play it is a wonder that we as a community can still produce Artists of this calibre.

However, back to the Boogie Band review...

JBBB is a classic 3 piece formation of Guitar, Bass & Drums. The poster for this event featurer Jimi Hendrix which people had made remarks like "How did you get him at short notice" but as the evening developed the similarities became clear...

THE BIT IN THE MIDDLE

"The Bit in the Middle"

Oh no.. Not them again..!

Due to a lack of willing volunteers and "JEFF's" Andrew being in a field somewhere downhill, the "Bit in the Middle" was again hosted by the old faithfuls, Al, Me Pal & his mucker Ledbelly Velocet who murdered some good ol'tunes in their own inimitable style...

Nuff said...

AL is available to give Sax Lesson or perform Solo or with a Duo or Band- 07711 647942

If you fancy filling "The bit in the Middle" turn up on the night and have a word with Fil or send him an email anytime. If you email Fil will gaurentee you spot, on the night it might be tight..!

There will be a Classic Ovation Acoustic Guitar available on the night so no need to bring your own and you will get a "write up" here which includes the chance to include any messages about forth coming performances or Record Releases..!

The Bass player, Pete provided consistantly good, solid & reliable Bass line which along with rock steady Drum Beat from relative new-comer Dave gave the ideal backing for Jon's creative and brilliant Guitar riffs.

Like with the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Jon was free to be creative and spontanious and the Band were there with him following his every step and direction right to BiG Endings..!

Many of the songs were Jon's own creations and the Band have a couple of CD's available of which more information can be abtained from their web site...
